Papa Johns’ chief people and diversity officer will resign from the company effective Nov. 4.
Marvin Boakye notified the company last week of his decision to leave “to assume a chief human resources officer position with another company,” according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Boakye helmed Papa Johns’ people functions during a time of transition. Following controversies involving the company’s founder, Boakye told the Louisville Business Journal the employer was in the midst of a culture reset — one that included a focus on DEI. The quick-service restaurant has continued to work on its employee value proposition, most recently expanding eligibility for its free college degree benefit to include employees who work as few as 10 hours per week.
A spokesperson said the company is thankful to Boakye for his contributions and has begun looking for his replacement.
“The Company has initiated a search process to identify its next Chief People and Diversity Officer,” Papa Johns also said in the filing. “The diverse and inclusive culture cultivated over the last three years will continue to be led by a strong executive leadership team, as well as through the Papa John’s company purpose and values.”
