Martin has over 35 years of information technology experience and will implement scalable technology solutions to boost Fat Brands’ growth, according to a Monday press release. The restaurant company has a pipeline of over 1,000 units planned or in development.
Martin has worked with a range of companies, including Fortune 500 firms and startups. He has held IT leadership roles at Lytx, Sony and PepsiCo and currently serves as principal at Silicon Beach Advisors, according to his LinkedIn profile. While at Silicon Beach Advisors, he helped lead the digital transformation and supported the sale of Jenny Craig from 2022 to 2023.
“Drew’s vast experience across the consumer landscape will provide great value to FAT Brands as we continue to enhance and strengthen our technology platforms,” said Thayer Wiederhorn, chief operating officer of Fat Brands, in a statement. “His deep understanding of digital innovation will be instrumental as we work to elevate our guest experience, streamline operations, and drive long-term growth across our portfolio of brands.”
The CIO appointment comes just a few days after the chain promoted Taylor Wiederhorn from chief development officer to co-CEO to work alongside Ken Kuick.
