As catering customers demand the same real-time visibility they get from every other delivery, Cartwheel, the leading enterprise delivery management platform for restaurants, today announced an expanded integration with ezCater, the #1 food tech platform for workplaces in the US.
The expanded integration gives operators direct access to ezCater Dispatch from within the Cartwheel dashboard. It ensures that self-delivery tracking events are transmitted to ezCater and the customer, and that restaurants can access ezCater Dispatch for hybrid delivery, all within the same platform.
According to ezCater’s 2025 Catering Growth Forum Insights, the majority of catering orderers want tracking on every order, are less stressed when it is provided, and do not need to contact the restaurant when they can track their orders. To meet this customer expectation, ezCater now has delivery tracking standards for all orders.
Built for Visibility at Every Step
Cartwheel's platform captures every tracking event automatically — driver assignment, en-route status, and delivery completion — through a single system built around an AI-powered dispatch engine and a Driver App rated 4.5+ with over 100,000 downloads. Recently added entrance data for over 100 million US addresses helps drivers find the right door faster, shortening delivery times. For operations where drivers prefer not to use a personal device, Cartwheel now supports an integration with hardware trackers, keeping live tracking intact regardless of how a driver is equipped.
For ezCater orders, those events transmit through the ezCater Delivery API without any additional work for store teams.
“Catering customers expect real-time tracking on every order today, and operators need a system that can deliver it consistently,” said Alex Vasilkin, co-founder and CEO of Cartwheel. “Our job is to give restaurants one platform that handles tracking, dispatch, and delivery management across every channel, simplifying operator workflows and providing a consistent customer experience.”
Direct ezCater Dispatch Access
As part of the expanded integration, Cartwheel now offers direct access to ezCater Dispatch from within the Cartwheel dashboard. Restaurants can request a Dispatch driver when conditions call for it, such as when an in-house driver is unavailable. Orders stay covered, tracking stays intact, and operators no longer need to toggle between platforms to manage coverage gaps.
“Catering customers have made their expectations clear: they need to know that their orders are on track,” said Liz Johnson, VP of Supply Operations, ezCater. “As we standardize delivery tracking for all ezCater orders, Cartwheel provides solutions at scale for our shared restaurant partners. Operators managing deliveries for multiple channels within the Cartwheel platform can now orchestrate ezCater orders - via either in house drivers or via ezCater Dispatch - all from within one platform, ensuring we collectively deliver on the customer promise, every time.”
One Unified System For All Deliveries
Most restaurants run more than one delivery channel. Cartwheel brings every delivery method into one orchestration layer, allowing operators to route each order to the right system — based on order value, distance, driver availability, and channel- or operator-defined rules. The result is one set of SOPs, one dashboard, and one consistent customer experience across every channel. Nowhere is that consistency more valuable than in catering, where a late $800 office lunch can mean a lost account.
"Catering at our scale means orders coming in from ezCater, our own site, and other marketplaces simultaneously,” said Gracie Prasanson, VP of Sales, Jason’s Deli. “Having a single platform to manage drivers, track orders, and maintain consistency is what makes it possible to grow catering without growing the complexity for our teams."
