As enterprise restaurant operators demand more resilience from their delivery programs, Cartwheel, the leading enterprise delivery management platform for restaurants, today announced an integration with Grubhub as a national delivery provider within its platform.
The addition gives operators a new high-quality fleet option within a delivery engine built around provider redundancy and fleet flexibility.
More Providers, More Resilience
Enterprise operators with locations across multiple markets face real risk when delivery depends on a single fleet. Driver availability fluctuates, coverage gaps happen, and during peak periods, a one-provider setup can fail at the worst possible time.
Cartwheel's hybrid delivery engine is built around multi-provider access, routing each order to the right driver, in-house or third-party, based on order value, distance, and availability. Grubhub's national driver network strengthens that roster significantly, extending reliable coverage across markets where operators need it most.
Grubhub, a part of Wonder, provides its Connect offering to deliver on behalf of brands, regardless of the ordering channel. Connect also lets merchants know the maximum they'll pay per delivery, with pricing dropping below that ceiling during off-peak hours, creating automatic savings without any manual management.
“Adding Grubhub Connect gives our operators a proven national network within the same platform they're already running,” said Alex Vasilkin, co-founder and CEO of Cartwheel. “At the enterprise level, the operators who win on delivery are the ones who never have to depend on any one provider.”
A Growing National Provider Network
The Grubhub Connect integration joins a roster of 50+ delivery provider partnerships within the Cartwheel platform, which manages hybrid delivery, third-party orchestration, and catering delivery for more than 25 of Nation's Restaurant News Top 500 brands.
Operators can access Grubhub Connect as backup for in-house delivery in a hybrid model, or as one option within a broader third-party orchestration setup — configured through the same dashboard they use for every other provider.
Throughout the integration, customers stay in the operator's branded experience. Cartwheel's delivery tracking infrastructure keeps the restaurant's colors, logo, and messaging in place end to end, so adding a new provider behind the scenes doesn't change what the customer sees.
“Grubhub Connect is built for operators who need reliable delivery at scale, and Cartwheel puts us in front of exactly that audience,” said Stephanie Grammel, Director, Integrations & Solutions at Grubhub. “Partnering with a platform that already powers delivery for some of the most recognized enterprise brands in the country is the most direct path to where we want to be.”
Both Cartwheel and Grubhub will be onsite at the Food On Demand Conference in Dallas May 5–7. Visit Cartwheel at Booth #308 and Grubhub at Booth #109 to learn more.
