Name: Mike Lenihan
New title: Chief financial officer, Texas Roadhouse
Previous title: Chief financial officer, CKE Restaurants
Lenihan has at least two decades of restaurant finance experience and is coming to Texas Roadhouse after two years at CKE Restaurants, according to a press release. He joined CKE in September 2023 as chief financial officer and gained the additional title of U.S. development officer a year later. He spent the bulk of his career at Yum Brands, where he held various financial leadership positions, according to his LinkedIn profile.
At Texas Roadhouse, Lenihan will oversee the chain’s accounting, financial reporting, investor relations, tax, treasury, internal audit and financial analysis functions, according to the press release. He will succeed Keith Humpich, who has served as interim CFO since June when Chris Monroe resigned. Humpich has been promoted to chief accounting and financial services officer.
Texas Roadhouse had a strong third quarter, increasing comparable restaurants sales by 6% at company restaurants, and outperforming several of its casual dining competitors. During the first nine months of the year, it opened 19 company-owned and three franchised restaurants. The company continues to invest in new store development, maintaining existing restaurants and opportunities for franchise acquisitions, CEO Jerry Morgan said in an earnings release.
