Sarah Sanders, the founder of farm harvest management technology company NATIVE, will be part of the speaking agenda for the CHCA Food Symposium, held April 4-5 at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (CHCA.) Sanders, who was raised in Cincinnati and is a Xavier Business School (MBA) alumnus, will discuss “Leveraging Software to Mitigate Food Waste” on April 5 at 3 PM ET.
NATIVE provides software tools for farmers in different localities to share their harvest inventory for retail and restaurants to meet the rising demand for local, traceable food.
“Our mission at NATIVE is to simplify the connection between independent famers and wholesale buyers,” said Sanders. “We are empowering farmers and helping them find additional growth opportunities to more easily get their produce to their local communities.”
NATIVE is currently running a pilot program in Cincinnati with the Tavern Restaurant Group, wherein Tavern’s four Cincinnati-based restaurant concepts and downtown event center will leverage the NATIVE software to source from local farms.
Additional speakers include journalist and educator Simran Sethi (NPR, The Washington Post, The Guardian), named the “environmental messenger” by Vanity Fair and designated one of the “top eight women saving the planet” by Marie Claire.
The CHCA Food Symposium will explore the “pathway to sustainability,” with speakers on topics related to sustainability, agriculture, and conservation for a two-day event that will serve as a springboard for conversations and a catalyst for change.
